1974 – Harold Simpson VE4HS generated the idea of a repeater, south-central MB.
1975 – Joe Knowles VE4JK became interested and did the ground work. Others involved VE4BZ, LS, DU, BA, DH, IW, OS, TY, MB
1977 – January 17, 1977, VE4HS SK, 66 YRS
Dam Crampton, VE4IY researched frequencies 146.28/88 was decided on.
Jan 5, First call sign was VE4MIR for testing
Feb 5, call VE4HS call used officially on the air. On a windmill tower located on Huntley Knox Farm, 3 ¾ miles west of Miami VE4IW/HS built a 6′ X 6′ insulated shack.
1978 – Repeater moved to Prairie Communications site west of Altamont.
1979 – Feb 18 VE4RE verbal agreement on site.
1980 – Solid state repeater purchased. RPTR WK IN MB SHOP, LS, IW, TY Repeater MOVED TO BRUXELLES, Suggested by VE4RE
1988 – Shack vandalized.
1989 – July 30 new repeater equipment.
2000 – Ownership to BARC Jan 1 – SWARC dissolved.
2005 – New equipment installed Oct 1, TNX VE4RE
2005 Oct – VE4HS Repeater Trivia 146.28/88 By Dave Snydal – VE4XN
2006 June 8 – Lightning struck, off the air.
2006 Oct 28 – Temporary antenna installed on building approx 14′ -elevation at VE4HS. Shack is 1762 FT – 2957.5N – 985203.6W – 300FT Higher than #2 HYWAY
2007 Oct 5 – 1M CHQ/LTR forwarde to VE4RE for VE4HS antenna installation, CHQ negotiated on Nove 15 – still no new antenna.
2008 May 26 – New antenna and feed line installed.
2009 November 21 – Tone 127.3 tone added.
2020 October 14 – License Sponsor: Kevin Munson – VE4MR (Advanced Basic Morse Code)
2020 October 17, Kevin Munson – VE4MR and Bill Mayberry – VE4WJM installed a refurbished Kenwood TKR-750K1 repeater to replace a defective one.
